Ruston Way

This morning Thorsten went briefly to the university meet up with Peter (the professor with whom T is cooperating, and who has been helping us out with pretty much everything since we arrived), and came home with a recommendation for a particular walk we could do on the Northern coast.

So, off we go, heading for the coastal area known as the Ruston Way waterfront.

We walked in the direction of the supermarket (and my dentist!), and then continued on the main road for another couple of km as the landscape grew increasingly suburban, before finally turning right down a steep slope to join the coast.

It was indeed a great place for a walk, and we enjoyed getting out of the city a bit. We walked through a small park, looked at the huge (military?) ships in the distance, got to see a train go by, and then headed the other direction. There, we passed a seafood store and a huge inn and also got to enjoy a great view out on a pier. We could have continued in that direction, but decided to save that for another day as we had a rather long walk home.

Some pictures from the walk:
